Facing the future

The worldwide trend today is switching out all energy systems to LED technology. Our evolution in this area is continuous and global. Enel Group in Colombia has actively embraced public-lighting market events, support systems and good practices in all countries in it which operates. It continuously adapts to the needs of its surrounding communities toso remain on the cutting edge of technological horizons.

So far, about 13,000 lights have been switched out from old sodium technology to LED technology across Bogota and its outlying municipalities. Savings have been logged at 30%. We have completed our switch-out of park lighting in Tocancipá, Chia, Cajica and Tavio, the main thoroughfares around of Zipaquirá, and completely modernized El Peñón. We have set our sights on completing the switch-out in the municipality of Nemocón for next year.
