“These young people are the first seeds that the Enel Foundation will plant in each of the municipalities of Cundinamarca. Our commitment is to ensure these seeds continue to grow, opening up possibilities for more and more students and families to progress from this agreement”

– Elías Carvajal, Director of the Uniminuto Regional Center in Soacha.

EDUCATION THAT FOSTERS DEVELOPMENT

The selection of the beneficiaries from this program was made through an open call. We received more than 200 applications, and took into account applicants who had completed their high school studies, presented the Saber 11 tests between 2014 and 2018, as well as their academic performance. Out of all the applications received, we selected 51 young people in the first round, and then the group was reduced to 35, of which following a home visit to each student and their families, we finally chose the 21 students.

“I am very grateful to the Enel Foundation and the University for the opportunity to receive this scholarship. It was a difficult process but the effort was worth it, and it goes to show that through dedication and perseverance we can achieve any goal that we set ourselves”

– María Camila Orduz, Energy Incubators Program Beneficiary.

“Thanks to this scholarship and the possibility of having university studies, I will be able to further teamwork in my community, strengthen community action meetings, bring people together more, carry out projects in schools, villages, and more. My goal is to have the opportunity to strengthen the municipality”

– Nicole Yesenia Gómez, Energy Incubators Program Beneficiary.

As a company, we will continue to promote spaces for more and more initiatives such as Energy Incubators to provide tools to communities, so they can improve their quality of life, that of their families, and contribute to progress in their municipalities.

“Uniminuto has been an ally that shares with us the vision of creating value in the communities, and through this new alliance we can contribute to the change we so desire in the rural areas where we are present”

– Carlo Ferrara, Sustainability Manager at Enel Group Colombia.
