Emgesa delivers a community hall to the Domingo Arias settlement in the Paicol municipality

  • This building cost COP 250 million and took four months to be built by 15 local residents.
  • The hall was delivered to Martha Garcés, the president of the Community Action Board of Domingo Arias, along with several community representatives.

 

EMGESA delivered a new community hall in the Domingo Arias settlement in the Paicol-Huila municipality, which intends to become a meeting place for activities and social meetings for the area's residents.

This building is part of the reparation projects built by EMGESA in the municipalities of the area of influence of the El Quimbo Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Huila department.

“Today is a very important day for our settlement because we have received the community hall for the people. This building is very beautiful and before we did not have a place for our meetings. Thank you to EMGESA for this work and for fulfilling it for the community,” said Martha Garcés, the president of the Community Action Board of the Domingo Arias settlement.

The building has an area of 120 square meters, it has more than 40 seats available for meetings and its construction required an investment of more than COP 250 million. 15 people worked on this project, half of which were from the Domingo Arias settlement.

The new structure complies with current earthquake safe regulations and was designed to have an adequate indoor temperature thanks to the air-conditioning system constructed. The hall is provided with all the utilities and the necessary characteristics for their functioning, such as electricity, water, aqueduct, waste water treatment system, kitchen, office/warehouse and bathrooms.
