- The pilot version of the program was created to provide oxygen-dependent customers with backup energy in the event of a failure in the power supply.
- The service is provided through portable batteries, which provide medical equipment with fallback energy for two hours.
- To date, 65 CODENSA customers have accessed the pilot program.
CODENSA, an ENEL Group company, launched a new service aimed at oxygen-dependent customers, currently in the pilot phase, called Vital Energy.
Vital Energy was designed to provide customers who depend on oxygen for survival with a backup power option, by means of portable batteries that supply electricity for two hours in the event of a power failure in the city.
In a power outage, the service consists of the customers calling CODENSA's emergency and Customer Service hotlines 115 or 7 115 115 (“Outage Report” option) and reporting their condition of oxygen-dependency and the need for service, which should arrive in one hour at most.
Once the service has ended, CODENSA schedules the collection of the equipment in the next 24 hours and the customer must send the corresponding medical certification by e-mail explaining the dependency on the equipment in order to remain in the program.
“With Vital Energy, the Company intends to implement innovative ideas that contribute to providing comprehensive solutions that go beyond providing its customers with electricity”, said Carlos Mario Restrepo, CODENSA Market Manager.
To date, 65 CODENSA customers have used this service effectively.
CODENSA will continue working to implement new solutions that contribute to its customers' quality of life.
