Fundacion Enel Colombia and Uniminuto award higher education scholarships

  • The agreement executed between Fundación Enel and Uniminuto will help finance 70% of the tuition for recipients. Of this, 55% is provided by the foundation and 15% by the university.
  • Scholarship recipients will receive a transportation stipend while they are in school, which is equal to 50% of a minimum monthly salary per semester.

 

Acting through Fundación Enel Colombia and Universidad Minuto de Dios, CODENSA and EMGESA opened a call for 21 people from seven municipalities from the department of Cundinamarca to receive scholarships at said University for technical, technological and professional careers. The scholarship includes 70% of the tuition and a transportation stipend, equal to 50% of a minimum monthly salary.

The scholarships will be awarded through the “Semilleros de Energía” (Energy Seedlings) program being implemented by Fundación Enel, which aims to support higher education in the municipalities in which CODENSA and EMGESA operate. For this reason, scholarship recipients must come from the municipalities of Sibaté, San Antonio de Tequendama, Soacha, El Colegio, Ubalá, Gama and Gachalá, and have graduated from high school and taken the Saber 11 tests between 2014 and 2018. This initiative is part of Enel Group's commitment to develop programs that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 4, which refers to ensuring a quality education.

These scholarships will be effective at Uniminuto campuses at Zipaquirá and Soacha campuses, and the recipients may enter one of the 16 selected programs, which include: Business Administration, Social Communication, Social Work, Psychology, Public Accounting, Systems Engineering, Early Childhood Education and others.

Those interested in becoming scholarship recipients of this program may apply from August 17 to October 27, 2018. Winners will be announced by the end of November, and they will begin their studies on the first semester of 2019. Recipients selection will be conducted jointly by Fundación Enel and the University.

 

ANYONE INTERESTED IN ACCESSING THE SCHOLARSHIP:

Anyone interested in being part of the program should apply before October 27, 2018 on Fundación Enel Colombia's website http://fundacioncolombia.enel.com/, complete the registration form and attach the following documents:

  • Application letter. No more than one page explaining why the applicant should be considered to receive the scholarship and what he/she would contribute to the municipality upon graduation.
  • Submit the Saber 11 results dated 2014 to 2018.
  • Certification from the Community Action Board (JAC for the Spanish original) or the municipal mayor's office stating current residency and years there.
  • Electricity bill for the place of residence.
