“After 4 years of promoting these training processes, and with more than 900 direct beneficiaries among community leaders and local authorities, we have developed several local projects for the benefit of the community, which contribute to social well-being and social transformation, and move us closer to a reality of peace.”

– Luisa Leaño, Sustainability Management Staffer, Enel Colombia.

Within the framework of this project, we have contributed to the transformation of more than 5,000 people, from the municipalities of Yacopí, Caparrapí, La Palma, Guadas and Chaguaní, and strengthened social cohesion and teamwork skills for more than 85 leaders in the municipalities of Ubalá, Gama, Gachalá, San Antonio del Tequendama and El Colegio.

Knowledge makes us stronger

With the implementation of workshops and training sessions, communities have received guidance in various key areas, such as political culture, participation, leadership, economic development, organizational strengthening and productive initiatives.

“We believe that we can contribute to bettering Colombia’s society by empowering its people. We are working to achieve both a cultural change as well as change in mentality because that is the only way to build peace”

– Carlo Ferrara, Sustainability Manager, Enel Colombia.

By supporting communities in recognizing their strengths and training them in social and political interest issues, we give them the opportunity to transform their vision and thus improve their living conditions. Now children dream of being community leaders, like their parents, with ethical values and are willing to work for the benefit of their surrounding environment.

“These processes have generated community forums which have lead to the social, business and family development of residents. They have become managers of the new leadership for the promotion of peace and development in our territory.”

– Jineth Marroquín, Social Action Leader, Municipality of Caparrapí.
