Today's world demands that we be able to recognize the differences in people, to see that in diversity resides the richness of society, and that through tolerance we have the power to overcome the barriers that limit social inclusion.
In Enel - Codensa, an Enel Group Colombia company, we are committed to building a society in which we can all live fully, and in which we recognize the rights of others. This is why we have understood the importance of adapting to social differences, focusing on the needs of people with disabilities and senior adults as part of our purpose of being an inclusive company.
INTEGRATION FOR COMMON BENEFIT
One of the main indicators of the degree of development of a society is its ability to integrate all people without exception, without looking at their differences or their conditions. Based on the commitment we have as a company to be a service benchmark and to incorporate the values of equity, we have launched the Enel - Codensa is Inclusive project, with which we have contributed to the improvement of the quality of life of more than three thousand people with disabilities and seniors who visit our service centers monthly. Starting in 2015, we adopted a differential approach in our care model, which has enabled us to ensure excellent service delivery for this important group of people.
The Enel - Codensa is Inclusive program, developed in conjunction with the Saldarriaga Concha Foundation, had an investment of nearly COP $ 220 million that were earmarked primarily for the training of service center directors and representatives to achieve efficiency in care, and to conduct an analysis and diagnosis of the needs of this population group. From this study, about COP $ 29,000 million has been invested in the renovation of our service points, where access ramps, signposting and preferential rows for people with physical disabilities were introduced, and modules for low size or wheelchair customers were installed. For customers with visual limitations, the braille invoice was issued, so far issuing about 5,000 invoices in this language.
