For this reason, it is essential that children and young people know about the importance of energy in our daily lives and that they understand the value of developing innovative initiatives that allow us to be more efficient in terms of our energy consumption.
This is how, under our Open Power philosophy, we want to bring the energy industry closer to people, not only by providing the service to those who need it, but also by getting everyone involved with the energy sector in order to find solutions to the multiple challenges facing our society today.
OPENING ENERGY TO THE YOUNGER ONES TO MULTIPLY OUR IMPACT IN THE WORLD
Enel, the group to which our companies Enel - Codensa and Enel - Emgesa belong, is the leading energy company in the world, and for more than 50 years has brought progress to different cities and countries around the globe. Thus our commitment to play a major role in providing solutions to people, but this is a job that we can not do alone. That is why, since 2004, the 23 countries where we have presence have transformed the way in which they are part of the company, and how they perceive the reality of their cities, through the We Are Energy project in which the children of our workers have the opportunity to participate in educational tours dedicated to discovering the world of energy.
Each year, the children of the Group, between ages 8 thru 17, present projects framed within a different concept aimed at solving a particular issue such as contributing to the improvement of the planet, global warming, development in innovation, new technologies, sports, among others; in doing so they can become young ambassadors of the energy industry, our philosophy of openness and the Enel world.

With We Are Energy, we want our employees and their families to take ownership of the work done by the Group and our companies, proud stewards of the energy sector, while we seek for them to become participant in world change and builders of the future. That is why, this year, our workers’ children face the challenge of becoming active protagonists in the transformation of the world, through the 17 global objectives for sustainable development that the United Nations proposes to reach before 2030 .
"Score the Goal" is the concept in which the thirteenth edition of the international contest is framed, in which the participants must make their voice of change heard through the implementation of a project in their community, documenting local initiatives or proposing an original idea.
As every year, the winners will travel to Italy, where for two weeks they will enjoy one of the best experiences of their lives on the We Are Energy Campus. In this space, children and young people learn and adopt values such as teamwork, the importance of helping others, while relating to people from all over the world, being exposed to other cultures and learning other languages. Through this initiative, we allow them to become aware of their abilities, to develop other skills and to think outside the box, to have fun and treasure moments they will never forget, while making important contributions to the transformation of the world.
